BIO

Billy was born in Gainesville, FL to great parents, and grew up in Knoxville, TN. He was an avid hiker and cyclist in the east tennessee hills. He also studied classical and flamenco guitar. He always had a great interest in music, photography, philosophy, and world affairs and culture. He became hooked on travel after a family trip to Europe, and so after his high school graduation, he set off on his first alone overseas journey for months all over Europe and North Africa.

He attended the University of Tampa, FL to be near family in the area, and to learn to sail and fly (he hasn’t gotten to the flying part yet). His mother and her family immigrated to the United States in the 1960’s. They worked hard and most now own successful businesses. Billy thought it important to be close to the culture and learn the business acumen of his relatives and spend time with his creative genius uncle.

Billy received an academic and music scholarship to the University of Tampa. He began studying Spanish and French languages. Then he realized that his thought processes resembled those of an economist and thought he would be a natural in that field. He began studying Economics at the John Sykes College of Business at UT. He appreciated the that Economics really is the study of all human interaction, and its interconnectedness with Sociology, Philosophy, Psychology, Political Theory, and Human Happiness. Billy graduated Cum Laude with a BA in Economics and Spanish. He has continued to travel extensively throughout his university career and and afterwards.

Billy met and married his wife Minerva while studying in Mexico. Minerva has BS in Management, a MBA, and is completing a BS in Accounting and CPA. They put their business knowledge together and have successfully developed a real estate investment co., and online translation agency, and a foreign RE investment and construction co.

After living out of the US for a period pursuing investments, and now with the investment climate downturn, Billy is back at his home in Clearwater, FL, studying and looking for the next innovative and interesting life/business opportunity.

He is a artist at heart, with a keen interest in creativity, science and innovation, economics and business. He is also very interested in the human condition, history, and future. He has two great brothers and has big travel, film making, and business plans for them together.
